FILM-FRIENDLY MEANS REMOVE FRICTION.

Want to attract film production to your community?
It comes down to three words:
Make. It. Easy. 🎬
This is where your strategy meets reality. How easy you are to work with determines whether production chooses you. And it typically shows up in three ways:
💰 Production savings
Cost-saving measures that make your community easier and more affordable to work in. Whether that’s waived fees, local support, or other efficiencies. Larger incentives can play a role, but even small savings send a clear message: you’re open for business.
📄 Local coordination + streamlined permits
Nothing slows momentum faster than a complicated approval process. The easier it is to navigate permits, coordinate road closures, access off-duty police, or connect with a single point of contact...the more attractive your community becomes.
🏗️ Infrastructure + accessibility
Can you support a crew once they arrive? Accommodations, local restaurants and shops, equipment resources and supplies, and a local workforce all play a role in whether a location is truly viable.
Here’s the key:
👉 You don’t need all three to get started.
👉 You just need to be intentional about where you begin.
Even getting one of these right can set your community apart.
Film-friendly isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being prepared.
If you were to improve just one of these, where would you start?
🎬 Follow along as we continue building your Film Tourism strategy.
